Now there is a Punjabi song on Pokémon GO

If you thought the Pokémania will mellow down with time, think again. Punjabi rapper Simar Gill has released a song dedicated to the obsession that Pokémon GO is. You will be absolutely crazy to miss this song.

After a good two months of pure addiction across the world to Pokémon GO, we all thought that the trend would mellow down a bit. However, fortunately or unfortunately, it has stepped up to the next level, at least in Punjab. Popular Punjabi singer, Simar Gill has now released a song, dedicated to the Pokémon GO obsession, and quite frankly, it is so stupid that it is hilarious.
This song is an ode to the Pokémania, where a lover sings about this girl who given him no attention because she is busy catching Pokémons. The girl is constantly online and on the phone, but the game keeps her occupied throughout the day. What a first world problem! Also, do not miss the background sound effect of Pikachu joining in, going “Pika, pika, pikachu.”
In the words of Joey Tribbiani, a character from popular TV show Friends, they have crossed the line, in fact they cannot even see the line, the line is a dot to them! Check out the freak show down here.

However, while singers in Punjab are celebrating in the new trend and writing songs on Pokémon GO, clerics in India, on the other hand, are taking rigid stance against the new fad in the country. Clerics at the Dargah Aala Hazrat have passed a religious decision against the augmented reality app. They believe that the increasing addiction to the game is not only life threatening, but may also be ‘un-islamic’, considering the ‘demonic’ characters (the Pokémons) that are part of the game. Additionally, various religious spots being Pokéstops, the clerics are concerned that there are chances of a distracted player entering a religious shrine while prayers are going on, which may lead to law and order problems.
